A card shop lives on trust, and payment security is where that trust starts. This page explains how we take payment, what we accept, and how your details are protected when you shop with Bags of Swank.
Payment methods we accept
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
The list can change; checkout always shows the methods currently available.
Currency and VAT
All prices are listed and charged in pounds sterling (GBP, £) and include UK VAT where applicable — the price you see is the price you pay. International customers may see currency conversion applied by their own bank or card provider at their provider’s rate, and any import duties or taxes charged on arrival are the customer’s responsibility.
Payment authorisation and 3-D Secure
Every transaction is authorised and verified before processing. Card payments run through 3-D Secure (such as Verified by Visa or Mastercard Identity Check) as required by Strong Customer Authentication rules, so you may be asked to approve the payment in your banking app. We may verify billing details, request additional verification, hold processing while checks complete, or decline transactions that cannot be verified. Orders are processed only once authorisation has succeeded.
We never store your card
Payments are handled by PCI DSS-compliant payment processors over encrypted connections. Bags of Swank never sees, stores or processes your full card number on its own servers. Tokenised details used for repeat checkout live with the processor, not with us.
Pricing accuracy
We work to keep pricing accurate, but errors can occur through technical faults, supplier updates, system issues or human error. We may correct pricing errors, amend product information, refuse transactions at incorrect prices, and cancel affected orders — anything you have already paid is refunded in full.
Fraud monitoring
Transactions are screened by automated risk tools and, where needed, manual review. We may verify your identity, request documentation, contact you to confirm an order, or cancel transactions that appear unauthorised, fraudulent or abusive. These checks protect genuine customers — and keep hot releases away from bots.
Chargebacks and disputes
If something is wrong with an order, contact us before starting a chargeback — most issues are resolved within one working day. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account restrictions, order cancellation, refusal of future service, and recovery action where the law allows.
Refunds
Approved refunds return to the original payment method within 14 days of approval. How quickly the money appears then depends on your bank, card issuer or payment provider — it is outside our control, but we process our side promptly. See Returns & Refunds for the full policy.
Payment-related cancellations
We may cancel an order if authorisation fails, payment cannot be verified, fraud indicators appear, required verification is not completed, or billing information is inaccurate. Where appropriate, we will try to resolve the issue with you first.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for banking delays, payment processor outages, currency exchange fluctuations or third-party payment errors. Our liability relating to payment processing never exceeds the amount you paid for the transaction, and nothing here limits your statutory rights.
